I'm on a roll today! I know I JUST posted, but sometimes the blogging bug strikes and you feel like writing. This doesn't happen to me often (I don't consider myself a writer), so I'm going to capitalize on it...
Also, I know that I JUST posted about my favorite budget sheet masks with my "Intro to Sheet Masking" graphic two weeks ago, but these Love More masks! I feel so strongly about them! I have to give them their own little spot on the blog, to mirror the spot they take up in my heart. They're just way too beautiful and work way too well for me to not talk about them. I'm not a daily sheet masker, but I have managed to work my way through 40 of them recently (I had a little bit of help, but I kept most of these for myself) and have more on the way. They definitely belong alongside the Whamisa hydrogels in my sheet mask hall of fame.
Okay, so I'd really appreciate it you hit play on the following song as you read my review about these masks... to really get how I feel about them.
Love More masks are sheet masks that come from Taiwan. Korea's Etude House and Tony Moly were the ones to introduce me to sheet masks, and though I'm forever grateful to them... Taiwanese sheet masks are just the best thing ever.
They fit well, they contain a ton of essence, and many of them use this thin silk or silk-like material that doesn't feel suffocating on the skin and makes you look less like a serial killer. And for some reason, they don't dry out quickly! I find that I can use them for at least 45 minutes (update: 25 minutes in winter) without a silicon sheet mask cover. I am addicted.
And the results are great as well. They calm, plump, and smooth the skin. The brightening masks are also no joke. They do as they claim.
The design and packaging is stunning. I've kept the boxes around because reasons.
Like seriously, I would lug these empty boxes to the Bolivian salt flats to take the ultimate mirror photo... Okay, maybe I'm going a bit overboard. But they're gorgeous aren't they?
Mini Reviews
Love More Yurong scattered Amazing White Mask Sheet |
The Yurong scattered Amazing White Mask Sheet is a well-balanced mask that hydrates the skin and even brightens it a little bit, despite its lack of brightening ingredients. Your skin is left feeling velvety smooth after this one. It is also great at reducing redness. I'm terrible at pinpointing and describing fragrance so sorry in advance, but it smells lightly herbal. The smell of this one is not too strong.
Love More Herba Saussurea Involucrata Revival Mask Sheet |
The Herba Saussurea Involucrata Revival Mask Sheet is a brightening mask that delivers. All of the Love Mores are pretty hydrating, so this was pretty good at moisturizing as well. This is one of two brightening flavors I tried. I found that this one worked pretty well, but if I had to pit one against the other, the other brightening mask would eke out the win. The smell of this one is again very light and refreshing. Also, have to mention, the TOP ingredient is green tea - one of the nicest smelling and well-received antioxidants out there.
You want brighter? Let's go brighter....
Love More Rhodiola Antioxidant and Brightening Mask Sheet |
This Rhodiola Antioxidant and Brightening Mask Sheet gives lasting brightening effects to the skin. I felt my skin looked brighter for almost a whole day after I used this mask. While I still stand by the arbutin (I ain't scared) My Scheming Rose Dew Moisturizing Silk Mask, I can now vouch that the Morus Alba Root Extract can do a good job as well. It would be a great brightening/whitening ingredient to try if you are opposed to using arbutin or hydroquinone products. Again the fragrance in this sheet mask is light.
Love More Pearl Barley and Milk Smoothing Mask Sheet |
Okay, with this Pearl Barley and Milk Smoothing Mask Sheet, I have to warn you that the scent is strong with this one. But the smell is very yummy, and reminds me of milk tea. If that sounds appealing to you, you may still enjoy it even if you don't like fragrance. This mask does DRENCH your skin in moisture. I've been loving using it chilled at night after a day out in the sun.
PSA
I just wanted to mention that the mask comes with two backings, instead of one. The actual very thin, almost translucent silk sheet mask, is sandwiched between a plastic backing and a blue cotton sheet. The blue sheet is not the mask.

These masks can be a bit tough to find. BonjourHK stocks them but are currently sold out. (They're that good.)
I purchased mine from a Taiwanese mall called BGO Taiwan. Don't be put off by the fact that the website is all in Taiwanese, they ship worldwide. With the help of trusty Google Chrome's automatic translator, navigating the site is a cinch. You can also enter your information using Roman characters (aka the alphabet we use in English). The masks cost about $6.30 for a box of 10 5 so they seem quite affordable HOWEVER the cost to ship these products can get quite high. I paid almost as much in shipping as the products were worth themselves. It would make sense to do a large order, or organize a group order with your fellow mask addicts. Here's a link to their shipping tables.
