Ever wake up and just want to put all the makeup on your face? That's been happening to me a lot lately.
I spend a lot of time at home, so a lot of days, my indoor sunscreen is the only non-leave-on beauty product I'll touch. I end up going for week-long stretches without using any makeup, and then I go bananas and then load it on for a few days. And even when I do wear makeup, most of my looks are very natural, with maybe just one pop of color...
But today I was craving a noticeable, night-out makeup look. I thought I'd use all the new(-ish) things I have in my collection, especially the longer-lasting, sweat-proof items I got for the summer months.

Too Cool For School Glam Rock Urban Eyeshadow in 07 Rock Black
This is a gunmetal gray color with teeny specks of silver glitter. I like it! It's pigmented enough that the color looks intentional... so not like a bruise or anything, but it's not TOO pigmented, where I'm afraid that it's going to look too strong after laying down just the first layer. It's really easy to build up the color. The lasting power is average. I can get it to stay about 6 hours without fading on its own, and about 8 hours over eye primer. The texture is a touch harder than say your average Urban Decay or Too Faced eyeshadows (for the sake of comparison), and more akin to a Stila shadow, but less chalky if you get my drift. It gets 4 out of 5 possible girls in etude house kitty headbands. <-- my new rating system.

Etude House Play 101 Pencil in 38
The Play 101 pencils are reeeally popular and I can see why now. You get a super decent amount of product (over an inch) for $5. What's more, they're super decent quality-wise too! The eyeliner pencils in the line are highly-pigmented and waterproof. The color I have is another green pencil with a gunmetal gray lean to it. In most lights, it looks green, but every once in awhile it looks pure gray. I call it Green Steel. It's super beautiful with flecks of green and gold glitter throughout. I like that it's pretty creamy and very easy to smudge out as you apply it. I also love that once it sets, it's not going anywhere, not even if you ask it nicely with a round of cleansing. I wouldn't use this pencil on the undereye area though. It tugs a bit, which is why I picked up darker shades instead of the light ones. Angry red aegyosal (undereye bags) are not cute. Lastly, how could I forget? The pencil is retractable!
Today I used it all over the mobile-lid, but I most like using this on its own without any eyeshadow at all as a little point of color! Since the green is pretty dark, it isn't too noticeable that the liner isn't a traditional brown or black, except for when it catches the light.
It gets 5 out of 5 half-kitty half-girl cat-taurs from me. <--like centaurs, but cuter.

Tony Moly Backstage Gel Eyeliner in Black
I want to love this eyeliner so bad, because everyone seems to love it and I'd been in dire need of a good eyeliner after the K-Palette debacle, but I'm teeeeeerrible with gel eyeliner. I'll try to be objective. This is the blackest gel eyeliner I have ever used. Like the Etude House play pencil before it, it's easy to smudge along the lash line as you apply it, but once it sets, it won't smudge or migrate down your face. This is not as waterproof as the Etude House, but it is very water-resistant, and will last you through the whole day.
I really love the packaging! I like how it looks like a chessboard pawn. They stashed the brush in a super smart way too, where the brush slides face-down into a little nook housed in the top part of the lid. I think? the brush is synthetic and it picks up the product really easily. It's on the thicker side, and less flexible, so it's a great brush for beginners. Tony Moly also included a little white, plastic disc that caps the product and prevents air from getting in and drying it out.
I would give it full marks, but I'm going to knock one off because I just don't like gel liners all that much.

NYX HD Concealer in 04 Beige
I've been using Maybelline concealers for so long, I just thought I'd switch it up a bit. I picked up this creamy doe-foot applicator concealer from NYX in 04 beige. This is probably a great shade for someone who is an NC20 - NC25. It's a bit dark for me, so I don't get to use it on my dark circles. Instead, I use it to cover up freckles and moles on days when I don't feel like using foundation or bb cream. It also works great as an eyelid primer. The coverage is on the high side of medium. It's also a tad thicker, and chalkier than the Maybelline Age Rewind, but still very easy to blend. 4 / 5 marks

Since the eyes are dark, and the lip is bright, I just used a bit of subtle, matte highlighter on the cheeks. In case you're wondering, the Peripera cushion lips looks light on the lips because I layered it over concealer to get the gradient lip effect! When used on its own, the color looks just as bright as the arm swatch.
