Though I'd like to sheet mask every day, my laziness dictates that I get around to it every other day or every couple of days. So any given month, I get to try about 10-15 masks. This month, instead of doing a favorites post, I thought I'd rank the sheet masks I got to try over the past couple of weeks.
There are 12 in all. There are some meh's and many "men-boong's" ("so good it caused a mental breakdown"). Let's begin the countdown!

This mask is the LEADERS INSOLUTION COCONUT GEL MASK WITH TOMATO. It's made out of coconut jelly instead of your typical biocellulose hydrogel. It's also extremely slippery and hard to keep in place. I found that the effects were a bit lackluster (slightly moisturized, no brightening or increase in elasticity) for the hassle to keep it on your face. I couldn't pinpoint the smell but it wasn't terrible. What was annoying about the mask was that it felt slimy and not in a good way, so I couldn't get myself to keep it on past the 30 minute mark. But that's okay because it was about to dry out anyway. The feature ingredients in this mask are the fermented tomato extract which is rich in lycopene, a potent antioxidant. The coconut is also fermented and contains vitamins B and C. Tip to know: the mask comes between two mask backings, I completely goofed and wore the backing for the first 5 minutes.

This mask is the MISSHA MISA GEUM SUL ORIENTAL GEL MASK. Rounding out the bottom two is another hydrogel! Imagine my surprise! This mask has some great oriental medicinal ingredients like ginger, ginseng, licorice root, various lesser known root extracts, mushrooms, and deer velvet made out of deer antlers. It also has some great moisturizing factors like the collagen and sodium hyaluronate. I expected a lot out of this mask (moisture, brightness, and firming) and it failed to deliver. The only cool thing was that the mask had little flecks of gold in it. The mask smelled lightly botanical and came in two pieces - one that drapes over the forehead, nose, and cheeks, and one that covers your chin and mouth area. There is a mask backing which while environmentally unfriendly, is totally awesome if you drop your mask. The mask slid down my face and again, was a hassle.

This mask is the LEADERS STEP SOLUTION ALOE SOOTHING MASK*. I'm going against the crowd here, but it just didn't do it for me. It's probably just a matter of taste. This really smells like aloe, which gets on my nerves. I couldn't really enjoy it while aloe fumes were swirling around my face. Leaders cotton sheet masks are very high quality though. The cotton is super soft and thin like a premium pima cotton shirt, the fits are great, and they really stick onto the face. I'll begrudgingly admit this mask did moisturize really well.

This mask is the LEADERS STEP SOLUTION VITA BRIGHT MASK*. It's another Leader's mask! So you know it's good. I have to admit though that the mask doesn't brighten as well as one might expect. But what it is amazing at is moisturizing (so what else is new), and soothing and calming skin inflammation. The formula is packed with anti-inflammatory botanical extracts. It smells like plants, not aloe, so I was able to keep this one on for over an hour. The fit is great and it really sticks onto the face. The cotton is very soft as well. Repurchase-able. This one is totally repurchase-able.

It also contains potential irritants fragrance and tocopheryl acetate, and PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil (mild health). I would say this could be suitable for sensitive skin types. Beware if you tend to break out from shea butter edit: or fermented ingredients though: here's a cautionary tale from AsianSkincareBlog.
This mask is the A. TRUE REAL BLACK TEA TRUE ACTIVE MASK. This is the only hydrogel that managed to impress me this month. You can read my first impression in the Instagram post above. The mask contains "finest tippy golden flowery orange pekoe" tea leaves harvested from the Castleton Tea Gardens in Darjeeling, India, which are then heated, rolled, and twice-fermented. The black tea already contains many antioxidants, but fermented, their superpowers to scavenge out and fight free radical damage on the skin only get stronger. The biocellulose in the hydrogel, I learned, contain nano fibers which are responsible for the strong adhesion on the face that I liked so much. I'd repurchase that.

This mask is the SOO ARGAN ESSENCE MASK. This is a very average sheet mask made of average cotton with an average scent that matches its argan oil flavor. It moisturizes and soothes the skin. It's also got polyglutamic acid sourced from fermented natto which is a very effective humectant. The reason why it beat out the Leader's mask? These masks are about 20 cents each, not counting shipping. Unfortunately I couldn't find these particular masks, but one site was carrying the green tea flavor. I've linked to it below.

This mask is the SIDMOOL WATERFULL PURE ESSENCE MASK SHEET. The mask is an average cotton one, but the fit is extremely nice as it's got enough real estate on the bottom half of the mask to tuck itself neatly under your chin. The 1-2 power humectant combo of the polyglutamic acid and sodium hyaluronate makes this mask extremely hydrating. It's also got some antioxidants in the non-fragrant botanical extracts, and a few brightening agents in the lactic acid, ascorbic acid, and licorice root extract (dipotassium glycyrrhizate). This mask is also another great value buy at $0.50 per, and something I would most definitely repurchase.

This mask is the ANNIE'S WAY SNAIL REPAIRING JELLY MASK*. It's a wash off mask which means after cleansing, toning, and prescription topicals, you apply the mask, leave it on for about 30 minutes, and wash it off. I liked it! It has a plushy gel texture that smells like tropical fruit sorbet. As you would expect from a mask with glycerin, hyaluronic acid and snail, it's very moisturizing. This is another one I would repurchase. You can buy a big tub of the stuff or a small mask pack. Little tip about the mask pack - you can get 2 uses out of it. :) Oh yeah, and it comes with a sturdy spatula with a long handle that comes in handy in the kitchen, and for using to scoop out your All In One ampoules.

This mask is the MEDIHEAL E.G.T. TIMETOX AMPOULE MASK. I have to admit, I tend to love any mask with the word "ampoule" in the title. It usually means the mask has an ingredients list that contains potent anti-aging ingredients, wrapped up inside a very substantial and richly moisturizing gel ampoule texture. It also usually means the mask contains at least 30 ml of formula. I bought this because I was intrigued about the E. G. F. in it. E. G. F. stands for epidermal growth factor and refers to the rh-Oligopeptide-1 in the mask. This particular peptide curbs wrinkles by stimulating cellular growth. There is a bit of drama with this ingredient though - the topical application of E. G. F. has been thought to potentially stimulate the proliferation of cells that have sustained free radial damaged... so these "bad" and potentially pre-cancerous cells may spread. Read more about it at the BareFaced Truth blog. In any case, there are more good ingredients than bad, and I really wanted to try E. G. F. It was on my ingredients bucket list. Ok, back to the mask review - this was one of the most moisturizing masks I'd ever used which is honestly probably the best way to reduce the appearance of your wrinkles - fancy peptides be damned. Disclosure: Bought it. This mask has butylene glycol (mild acne trigger), cetearyl alcohol (mild acne trigger), shea butter (acne trigger). It also contains potential irritants fragrance and tocopheryl acetate, and PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil (mild health). I would say this could be suitable for sensitive skin types. Beware if you tend to break out from shea butter edit: or fermented ingredients though: here's a cautionary tale from AsianSkincareBlog.
This mask is the A. TRUE REAL BLACK TEA TRUE ACTIVE MASK. This is the only hydrogel that managed to impress me this month. You can read my first impression in the Instagram post above. The mask contains "finest tippy golden flowery orange pekoe" tea leaves harvested from the Castleton Tea Gardens in Darjeeling, India, which are then heated, rolled, and twice-fermented. The black tea already contains many antioxidants, but fermented, their superpowers to scavenge out and fight free radical damage on the skin only get stronger. The biocellulose in the hydrogel, I learned, contain nano fibers which are responsible for the strong adhesion on the face that I liked so much. I'd repurchase that.

Disclosure: Bought it. This mask has niacinamide (causes some to break out), alcohol (mild irritant), triethanolamine (health), phenoxyethanol (midl health), and fragrance (mild irritation).
This mask is the SNP DIAMOND BRIGHTENING AMPOULE MASK. The mask comes out of the package dripping milky essence and it smells like peach. The cotton is a soft pima cotton-like material and the fit, just amazing. It also adheres really well to the contours of the face. So important. I wore it comfortably for 1 hour. It plumped and even delivered some brightening results!!! It may have been a placebo effect, but I swear my skin glistened from the diamond dust too. I was also surprised that my skin handled the alcohol in the formula. Love it, will repurchase it. A big bonus is that it's widely distributed. I found 5+ carriers!

Avoid if you're allergic to bee stings or bee byproducts. Typing out this ingredients list, I have to admit I was impressed all over again. I just wish the triethanolamine wasn't in there BUT it is at the end of the list.
This mask is the MEDIHEAL MASK DRESS CODE BLACK WHITENING. The red ginseng dress code mask was one of my favorites from last month, so this wasn't a big surprise to me that the black dress code mask came out on top this month. The mask is SO soft, and saturated. Again, it wears for over an hour and the essence actually absorbs into the skin, plumping all of your wrinkles and turning your face into botox face. I'll take it. It plumps, it brightens, and soothes. Unfortunately, it didn't firm as much as the red ginseng flavor, but it's still positively amazing!
