Two Shara Shara reviews in less than 24 hours! I know, I know... but they're shorties. Like me, whee. I'm also really behind on reviews, this has been in the queue for over a month.
Shara Shara Water Girl's Ice Cream | Full-Size 50ml
This is a bouncy medium-weight cream that is meant to be used as a sleeping pack. It came with the currently sold out Shara Shara Box ($33 / $75 value) from Memebox.com. It claims to keep skin hydrated all day long.
DIRECTIONS Use as the last step in your nighttime skincare routine. Spread onto face and apply in up and outward motions, massaging the product into the skin. Rub hands together to heat up the hands and softly place on face for even better absorption
It comes in adorable packaging, very Shara Shara-like. The jar is made of sturdy plastic and has little polar bear designs on the front and cap.
Also included is an inner seal made out of plastic with a little handle to make for easy lifting and smearing. Not included is a spatula. Tip I wish I knew before getting into Asian beauty: always save the spatulas!
INGREDIENTS Water, Glycerin, Propanediol, Butylene Glycol, Glycereth-26, Sodium Hyaluronate, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Bis-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Chlorella Vulgaris Extract, Panthenol, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Cyclohexasiloxane, Cetearyl Olivate, Dimethicone, Sorbitan Olivate, Tromethamine, Tocopheryl Acetate, Carbomer, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, Polyacrylate-13, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Polyisobutene, Polysorbate 20, Sorbitan Isostearate, Benzophenone-5, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, CI 42090, Fragrance.
The moisturizing factors in this cream are the glycerin, butylene glycol, glycereth-26, and the fabled sodium hyaluronate which holds 1000x its own weight in water molecules and binds it to the outermost layers of our skin. There is also hydrolyzed collagen, panthenol, and eucalyptus oil - all great moisturizers as well. The chlorella vulgaris extract is an algae-derived plant extract that will help moisturize, fight aging (antioxidants) and irritation (it's an anti-inflammatory).
Those looking out for acne triggers will want to note the butylene glycol and dimethicone (a silicone). There are a few low- to mid-level health concerns from the Tromethamine, Tocopheryl Acetate, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, Benzophenone-5, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, dye, and potential mild irritation from the Carbomer and fragrance.
Inside you get an icy blue gel type cream. It's not too light, and not too heavy. It's got that very typical "sleeping pack" texture with some bounce.
And it smells okay (my picky nose doesn't like water or aloe scents tooooo much), like what cosmetic chemists seem to think water smells like. I like it enough though. Apparently, the scent is eau d' eucalyptus, if you're familiar with that scent. ^^ Eucalyptus... makes me wish they put koalas on the packaging.
Moar bears is always better!
It does seem to do a pretty decent job at absorbing into the skin. My skin feels slick at first, but after about 5 minutes in, I can touch my face and not have my hands stick to it.
And lastly, is Shara Shara lyin' about keeping you hydrated all day? They did alright. I don't have to sing the Why You Lyin' song to them again like I did with their Honey Bomb AIO. This holds my dry ass skin over while I'm sleeping. If I use it as a day cream, it can last a couple of hours, but there's nothing out there that can handle this desert on my face.
FINAL RATING
☿☿☿.5 of 5 possible etude-kitties. Marks lost for scent (-0.5), and missing the mark on the all day hydration claim(-1) from this dry skin lady. Those with normal skin may enjoy it more.

I haven't heard of this brand actually but the packaging looks cute and even the product itself reminds me of jello. Lol I don't actually use a sleeping pack but I would if I get a chance to try them.
