Korean K-beauty News & Forums, Recommendations, and Aritaum USA Launch

With the advent of Google Translate, and resources like How to Learn to read Korean in 15 minutes, I decided to discontinue the Kinseng K-beauty news updates a few months ago. I said I would post all of the different sites that I know of on the Korean-Korean web that may be of interest to K-beauty addicts enthusiasts in the U.S. and internationally.

News Sites

For your new product launches and Korean beauty policy updates, refer to the following sites, of course with the help of the trusty Google Chrome browser and Google Translate app. Google Chrome automatically translates the content of these sites. The Englishified news should be intelligible and easy-to-understand for the most part.

1 Beauty KyeongJae (Beauty Business) 

Beauty KyeongJae (formerly known as DailyCosmetic) is one of the most up-to-date news outlets for K-beauty news. They always have the latest and greatest news on products getting launched. They are a daily publication so I view reading through Beauty Kyeongjae as almost a catch-all for K-beauty news.

2 CosInKorea

CosInKorea is the other site that usually comes through with all the latest on what's brand new in the industry. It's a publication for industry professionals but has the new product launches, Korean FDA updates, new technology infomation, and even which celebrities are the face of which brand.

3 Cosmetic Mania News (CMN)

CMN is probably the most useful news source from an English-speaking standpoint as the stories are laid out visually. It's easy to select the articles that are of interest based on the photos. One can surmise the content of the articles.



Forums

For product recommendations or to see what's buzzy in Korean beauty in South Korea, the forums below are great to traipse about in. Who knows, you might find an item or two that ends up on your evergrowing wishlist.

1 Yeouya

I love the layout of the Yeouya forum. They have beauty reviews uploaded by everyday people which include product swatches, and ratings. The top 3 products on the forum are always listed at the upper right-hand corner as well.

2 Powder Room

Powder Room aggregates reviews from top bloggers on the newest product releases. There's also a section of the site that reveals which road shops (drugstore brands) and shopping sites are having sales (deals accessible by buying service).

 3 WeMakeBeauty

WeMakeBeauty is the forum run by home shopping network site WeMakePrice. On there are top recommendations as determined by the community with rankings, average ratings, reviews, and more.




Ceci Magazine: The 4th K-beauty Awards

Ceci magazine is one of the most popular women's beauty and fashion publications in Korea. They released this short Youtube video on the best products as determined by Korean and Chinese readers over the past year.

Aritaum Stores Opening All Over the U.S. 

Aritaum USA made an announcement that they'll be opening over 60 locations of their multi-brand stores. Each store carries all of the Amore Pacific brands like Laneige, Hera, IOPE, and more. They also have an official U.S. site that lists out all of their products. The site looks poised and ready to launch online shopping - perhaps something we can look forward to in the future?
