Dearpacker Jeju Camellia Flower Mask - Lifting and Nourishing Review

Saturday, July 9, 2016

Happy Saturday y'all. Just a quick reminder, it's the final hours to enter my summer mask giveaway, it's international so if you're interested in trying out some fun new masks all with a fruit, flora, and veggie theme, please go take a look!

One of the masks in the prize package will be these Jeju Camellia Flower Masks from newish brand Dearpacker. Dearpacker was a mid-tier brand launched either early this year or late last year by one of the big Korean beauty conglomerates called LG Health and Household. This is the company that owns SU:M37 and The Face Shop. Dearpacker's main focus is on masks, both wash-off and sheet mask varieties. I picked up a 20 pack of one of their Jeju floral sheet masks of which there are 4 varieties: the unfortunately named rapeseed flower, cherry blossom, camellia, and cactus.

Mask packaging is the most ephemeral type of packaging but I'll discuss anyway because I have to admit that I was drawn to it. I like how compact and circular they are and how they have the flower motif all the way around the perimeter with bits of gold foil in the design as well. The expiration date is stamped on the back of all of these masks and they've also listed the ingredients in English.

I tend to love variety which is why I really enjoy these Dearpacker masks. They come in this super soft and heavy fiber sheet mask material that's soaked in a dense and heavy essence that comes laden with little bits of plant matter. I don't think that the material as a delivery mechanism is an improvement on my other preferred pima (ish) cotton and silk type masks, but it's nice to change it up a bit. The floral-scented essence though is super rich and almost creamy. I think I already mentioned, it's very nourishing for the face.

In terms of fit, they are roomy enough in terms of surface area, but the eye and mouth holes aren't too large, so if you have large eyes they might encroach around the eye area a bit. They fit my square-shaped face pretty well without slipping and sliding.

The star ingredients in the mask are the niacinamide which brightens and fights environmental damage to the skin, sodium hyaluronate which adds hydration back to the outer layer of the skin, camellia japonica flower and panthenol, which are both great moisturizers (quick reminder: hydration means adding water to the skin, moisturization means adding oil), and adenosine, which is yeast-derived and is supposed to help with anti-aging in general.

I wear this mask in between my prescription retin-A lotion and my first cream step in my routine at night. This mask I can wear for up to an hour and enjoy every single minute of it. It drapes over my It totally lives up to my expectations of giving me smooth, even, plumped, and lifted skin. The essence seems to even liven up and care for my wrinkles. This mask is a unicorn I tell you! Definitely do check it out if you love yourself a highly hydrating and moisturizing mask of the floral variety. This mask makes me think that Dearpacker masks ought to all be this good, considering they specialize in selling masks. I'm definitely going to scoop up more masks from them. These are totally addictive.
