L'HERBOFLORE SOY MILK HYDRATING MASK Review, L'HERBOFLORE STRAWBERRY WHITENING HYDROMASK Review, L'HERBOFLORE ROYAL PEARL BRIGHTENING MASK Review and Ingredients

Ahhhhhh I finally ripped myself away from watching Kpop group, GOT7's fancy footwork (and fancy faces) today to write up some thoughts about these very fancy sheet masks.

Okay, one last peek for the road.

I <3 living in a world where I can Kpop out loud & not be met with blank looks. TY Internet!

Congrats on winning No. 1 this week!

Oh yeah, so the masks though haha... These stunners have been all over Instagram lately. I just couldn't resist picking them up during Beautibi.com's sale last week. Plus, they were promising baby sheet masks with every qualifying order!

These masks are all from the same brand: L'herboflore out of Taiwan. They're currently carried by only one retailer in the U.S. (Beautibi - nice, wide selection) and at times come available on the Taiwanese online mall, BGO. That time is not now though, unfortunately they seem to be sold out.

--Here's a link to Beautibi's entire collection of L'herboflore masks.--

I know I had the hardest time deciding which masks to try, so I thought I'd let this mask review jump to the front of the line in case any of these intrigue anyone.

Submitted for your consideration...

"Soy milk contains vegetable proteins which act as natural humectant for skin to maintain the flexibility, firmness and brightness. β-glucan, Aloe Vera & Poria Extracts and Allantoin enhance the moisturizing effect, help soothe and repair the skin." From the Beautibi/L'herboflore websites

The acne triggers are Butylene Glycol and Chondrus Crispus (high). The health triggers are Glyceryl Polyacrylate, Propylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Sodium Metabisulfite, Methylisothiazolinone, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate. The potential irritants are the preservatives.

MASK The thin drapey silk material and fit are very similar to my beloved Love More masks with the long nose, and the extra material to tuck underneath the chin. The mask sheet comes sandwiched in between a blue cloth backing and a plastic backing, and the mask material is super soft and is able to hold a lot of essence. The scent of the mask is very lightly floral, though there's a bit of noise. I think I smelled a bit of the milkiness that you might expect from a soy milk mask.

PERFORMANCE I absolutely love this mask and can see why it's the most popular one on Beautibi's site. I trusted the wisdom of the crowd and they did NOT let me down. This mask was able to deeply hydrate my skin, with my water levels exceeding 60%!  Not only that, this mask was a total all-arounder for me. It calmed (meaning evened out redness and cooled) my face after my prescription anti-aging treatments and completely brightened everything it touched while somehow visually minimizing the size of my pores. I loved it. It did everything it said it would do. I also pH tested each of these masks and they are all slightly acidic with a skin-friendly pH below 7.

INGREDIENTS Aqua, Butylene GlycolAloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Citric Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hyaluronic AcidFragaria Chiloensis (Strawberry) Fruit Extract, Propylene GlycolMannitol, Sodium Citrate, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-15, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Isopropyl Alcohol, Cellulose, Panthenol, Trehalose, Xanthan Gum, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Triethanolamine, Fragrance, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Sulfite, MethylisothiazolinoneIodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Sodium Acetate

"Strawberry extract is rich in polyphenols, ellagic acid and vitamin C that have brightening, whitening and moisturizing effects for the skin. Sodium Hyaluronate and Vitamin B5 enhance the moisture and radiance of the skin." From the Beautibi/L'herboflore websites

My two cents is that every strawberry product I've used has been able to brighten the face. Sodium Hyaluronate is a proven skin-identical ingredient able to penetrate the skin and bind water to it. I'm not certain where the vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) is coming from - perhaps the strawberry itself? If you know, please comment down below.

The only acne triggers are Butylene Glycol and Triethanolamine. The health triggers are Isopropyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Triethanolamine, Fragrance, Methylisothiazolinone, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate. The potential irritants are the preservatives, fragrance, and alcohol.

MASK Though it says that all L'herboflore masks are made of silk, this one felt more like a really thin cotton. Even so, the material still holds a decent amount of essence. This particular fit is also different from the first mask; it's a bit more generic. A ton of mask brands do this type of fit, in fact,  Sidmool is one of the last ones I tried that has this fit. This mask comes with a one-sided plastic backing. The best part of the mask for me is the SCENT. It smells just like fresh-picked summer strawberries and is totally addictive. It's mouthwatering!

PERFORMANCE I like this mask a lot, and will probably repurchase it whenever I'm craving the delicious scent even though it's less suited for my dry skin than the soy. The mask does a decent job of moisturizing and hydrating the skin; the readings I took after wearing the mask for 40 minutes showed the water levels soaring, while the oil levels stayed pretty level. This mask was also pretty great for pore care, my pores looked smaller.

L'HERBOFLORE SOY MILK HYDRATING MASK Review, L'HERBOFLORE STRAWBERRY WHITENING HYDROMASK Review, L'HERBOFLORE ROYAL PEARL BRIGHTENING MASK Review and Ingredients

INGREDIENTS Aqua, Butylene Glycol, Aqua, Pseudoalteromomnas Ferment Extract, Salicylic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Hydrolyzed Pearl, Sodium Hyaluronate, Mannitol, Sodium Citrate, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-15, Propylene Glycol, Xanthan Gum, Triethanolamine, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium Acetate, Aqua (water), Isopropyl Alcohol, Cellulose., Saccharide Isomerate, Aqua (water), Citric Acid., Bisabolol, Polyglutamic Acid, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Parfum (Fragrance), Methylisothiazolinone, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate

"Rich in amino acids and trace elements, Japanese Deep Sea Pearl extracts can soften, nourish and brighten the skin to give a rosy complexion. Antarcticine, γ-PGA and Bisabolol have a deep moisturizing effect and enhance skin hydration." From the Beautibi/L'herboflore websites

My take on the ingredients list is that its REALLY, REALLY interesting. The main ingredient is pseudoalteromonas ferment, which is a strain of bacteria found in mud on King George Island in Antarctica. This substance is a source of peptides (anti-aging ingredients/skin plumpers) glycine, lysine, and histidine. Apparently extended use of PF has shown promise and might stimulate collagen production in the skin.

The only acne triggers are Butylene Glycol and Triethanolamine. The health triggers are Salicylic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Propylene Glycol, Isopropyl Alcohol, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Fragrance, Methylisothiazolinone, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate.  The potential irritants are the preservatives, fragrance, and alcohol.

MASK You've probably noticed that the mask comes in two pieces. When I saw the package, I completely thought it was going to be a hydrogel, but it's just silk. Again, this mask isn't as thin and silky as the first one, but it's noticeably softer and finer than the Strawberry mask. The material is great at holding in essence and the fit is really unique. What I mean by this is that the eyes are slanted and their are no slits around the nose area at all. It just drapes over all in one piece, but somehow manages to adhere to the contours of the nose really well. The mask is also pretty wide and a bit short on the forehead and chin. Yup, the fit is truly one of a kind, in a good way though! This mask comes with a one-sided plastic backing. The scent of this mask is like a really faint milk tea aroma. It's beautiful!

PERFORMANCE If you follow me in real time on Instagram, you probably already know that I don't think this mask is the best for my skin type. I do see it being really alluring for people with oily or normal skin though, especially as a mask to do before a special event, or before doing your makeup on a high octane day. Why? This mask leaves your skin poreless and the essence absorbs into the skin in record time, leaving your skin matte in a matter of minutes.

If you're my skin twin, and need something hydrating and moisturizing, I would skip this one. I'm not planning to repurchase it.

RATING ☿ of 5 etude kitties for dry skin, see it potentially being a great sheet mask for those with the opposite skin type as me.
