Mini Cupidrop Haul + Reviews: A-True Body Wash, Ciracle Jeju Mayu Mask, A-True Black Tea Mask

Thursday, November 19, 2015

Hi everyone: Back so soon you say? And with more things from Cupidrop?

Yes because..
a) I asked which items you would like to see reviewed and one of the items in this post was requested.
b) Chronologically, I hauled from them just a little before the Primary Raw made its way to momma.
c) I find them to be among the best curated U.S.-based k-beauty shops.

And also because the weekly Get It Beauty viewing guide is no more! Get It Beauty just aired its last episode of the year last night. :*( I'm sad to have to wait it out for a few months until the next season. Notes from the last episode will not be coming as it was mostly a season recap.

I picked up three things that I needed at the time, around late September.

A-True Vanilla Black Tea Day Relief Body Wash

A-True Vanilla Black Tea Day Relief Body Wash review, A-TRUE Real Black Tea True Active Mask review, samples, Ciracle From Jeju Mayu Anti-Aging Facial Sheet Mask review.

INGREDIENTS Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water(130,340mg), Lauryl Glucoside, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Sodium Cocoylalaninate, Glycerin, Olive Oil PEG-7 Esters, Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, 1,2-Hexanediol, **Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract(1,200mg), **Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract(13mg), Methyl Gluceth-20, Sodium Hyaluronate, Myrciaria Dubia Fruit Extract, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract, Ocimum Basilicum(Basil) Leaf Extract, Melissa Officinalis Leaf Extract, Helichrysum Arenarium Extract, Caprylyl Glycol, Ilex Paraguariensis Leaf Extract, Panthenol, Sodium Bisulfite, Allantoin, Fragrance, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA (COSDNA ANALYSIS)

I picked this body wash up because I needed some body wash. I saw it, I liked that it contains gentle, non-stripping surfactants, and promised to smell like vanilla and black tea!

At $24 for 250 ml (a bit small compared to drugstore options) the price of this body wash is a bit closer to GOOP territory than I like, but I don't know... I'm an addict, so I succumbed.

I'm happy with the purchase. It's super thin and racks up a really bubbly, lather on my loofah while filling the bathroom with the scent of vanilla. The black tea scent, I don't know about, it eludes my nose. But it leaves my skin soft and smooth, and this might be wishful thinking, but also brighter. Plus, clouds of pH 6.5 vanilla on my body? This is repurchase-able. That is, if I didn't already have my sights set on another illi body wash option.

I've already reviewed this mask on instagram and in a round-up on the blog before. Honestly? I picked it up because I needed to make the minimum for free shipping, but it turned out to be one of those non-fussy hydrogels that actually stay on your face. So it was very nice. It brightened and gave a boost of moisture that most hydrogels lack. The ingredients list is pretty awesome, I discussed it more in detail in the instagram post and the earlier round-up. Again, I'm happy with this mask. I could see myself repurchasing, or picking some of these up as gifts as they're pretty nice, but it's not something I crave every day. Every month or two maybe.

P.S. would you look at ALL of those samples???

Ciracle Jeju Mayu Anti-Aging Facial Sheet Mask

A-True Vanilla Black Tea Day Relief Body Wash review, A-TRUE Real Black Tea True Active Mask review, samples, Ciracle From Jeju Mayu Anti-Aging Facial Sheet Mask review.
Bottom Left: The fit and material is a solid, tightly woven white sheet with a short nose. Bottom Right: Very moisturized but some momentary 'troubles', I used a bit of CosRX BHA on them and they disappeared in 2 hours.

INGREDIENTS Sea Water, Horse Fat, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, PEG/PPG-18/4 Copolymer, Niacinamide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Dicaprylyl Ether, Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, Betaine, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, PPG-1-PEG-9 Lauryl Glycol Ether, Coceth-7, DIMETHICONE, Xanthan Gum, PEG-10 DIMETHICONE, Hydroxyethylcellulose,PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Allantoin, Cyclomethicone, Tocopheryl Acetate, Raffinose, Adenosine, Inositol, Fragrance, Sodium Hyaluronate, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Hyaluronic Acid, Histidine, Arginine, Cysteine, Lysine, Glutamine, Glycine, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, Tropolone,Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Rubus Fruticosus (Blackberry) Fruit Extract, Ribes Nigrum (Black Currant) Fruit Extract, Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract, Fragaria Vesca (Strawberry) Fruit Extract, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Extract, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Fruit Extract, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract (COSDNA ANALYSIS)

Again this mask I picked up to make the free shipping minimum. This one I don't recommend at all, for two reasons. I picked this up when I was in a stage where I was up to try anything once, and this extended to horse oil and starfish products. I was curious - can I live? ^^ I'm just kidding. But since then, I've been thinking more along the lines of, there's no reason to indulge in products that contain animal products where the animal lost its life in the process. So I'm planning to sit out the next wave of mink oil, bear oil, sea horse, etc. products. I don't think I'll have a hard time finding other things with which I can amuse myself...

The second reason I don't recommend this mask is because it managed to break me out slightly. If you click through to the CosDNA analysis, there are no high acne triggers, and I know my skin doesn't mind dimethicone at all... But reader beware... this mask managed to trigger a few minor eruptions out of terrain that contains ZERO oil and sebum whatsoever. Meaning, I almost NEVER break out and this broke me out. Luckily I have some CosRX BHA on hand and I spot treated those suckers right away. They only occupied my face for about 2 hours before the CosRX did its thing.

I'm not going to link this one.

Have you made any purchases lately? What's the last thing that wowed you?
