I'm going to do some really quick mini reviews of products that have been giving me major buyer's remorse. Since there are so many of them, each review will be only 1-2 sentences, to avoid having a huge wall of text.
The products that I have included either have not measured up to their claims or inflated price tags, OR have not worked for me personally, for some reason or another.
Get ready because some shade is about to be thrown.

Lancome Maquiriche Eyeshadow Duo in Cappucino and Golden Sun
These are gorgeous shades and they have a rich texture, but they are almost a decade old. It was time to destash them. I do recommend Lancome eyeshadow duos overall though.
Coastal Scents Reveal 3D Palette Sampler *Birchbox
I got these in a Birchbox. My first thought was when I saw them was, why even bother? The pans are almost too small for my brushes and pinky finger! I gave them a fair shot but found that the shadows are very mediocre. They blend away into nothingness.
Maybelline Waterproof Ultra Liner Liquid Eyeliner in Black
This eyeliner is not beginner-friendly. It can be difficult to apply as the brush applicator is a bendy calligraphy-type brush. The formula takes forever to dry and can crack. I will admit that it is really black and very waterproof though.
Wet N Wild Mega Liner Liquid Eyeliner in Plum/Prune
The Wet N Wild colored liquid eyeliners contain only a droplet of product and have very little pigment. The product also skips during application.
Yves Saint Laurent Volume Effect Faux Cils Baby Doll Mascara
This mascara gives unimaginable length, but it cannot hold a curl to save its own life! I found that it would sometimes flake, and the full size product dried out before the 3-4 month mark.
K-Palette Real Lasting Eyeliner 24H Waterproof Micro 1 Day Tattoo
This eyeliner disappears on the eyelids unless bolted down by using a powder or base underneath. The color is also not that black. Full review here. Just a quick update to the original post, I have found a use for this eyeliner. It works nicely as an eyebrow pen!

Wet N Wild Matte Lipstick in Purty Persimmon
This has a lovely color, but the formula is just a bit too matte. Swatched here. I'm turning to my Peripera Peri's Cushion Lips in Danger for my orangey red kicks instead.
Wet N Wild Silk Finish Lipstick in Retro Pink, Blushing Bali, and Hot Paris Pink
These literally cost pennies, but were just hanging around, cluttering up my collection. I got tired of scaring people with Retro Pink, I never liked Hot Paris Pink, and I have too many colors like Blushing Bali. I've kept Cherry Frost (a red with golden flecks) around. ModelCo Party Proof Matte Lipstick in Get Naked *Birchbox
I feel conflicted. I hate the formula and color of this lipstick on its own because it feels cheap. BUT, it is nice to pat on the center of your lips over another shade to create some dimension. It also neutralizes deep tones well.
Make Up For Ever Aqua Lip Waterproof Lipliner Pencil in 3C - Medium Nude Beige
There's no excuse for a product that costs ~$20 to not be retractable aka sharpen itself. I hate losing product to sharpening! The color itself is a nice Kylie Jenner lip color.
Etude House Color Pop in Sunny Pop | 에뛰드하우스 컬러팝 써니팝
This is coming up on expiry. It's a good enough lip tint, not the best, but good. It doesn't layer that well though. Swatched here.
NYX Butter Gloss in Peach Cobbler
It's a fine gloss, I'm just not a gloss girl. It's also been almost a year so it's time to toss it. I won't be repurchasing. Swatched here.

Benefit Ooh La Lift
Using this is as useless as painting an opalescent nail polish on your under eyes. Don't expect it to actually do anything other than confuse you as to why it even exists.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, specifically Addis Ababa and Stockholm
The soft matte lip creams are nice and weightless on the lips, but accentuates any lines you may have.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks in Sky Pink, Cherries in the Snow, Black Cherry
Sky Pink is chalky, Cherries in the Snow is too cool-toned, and Black Cherry has an uneven application. Swatches here.
Tarte Best in Faux Fiber Lash Mascara
This mascara does not add much length or volume, and it will shed fibers on your face. For a good fiber lash mascara, check out Majolica Majorca.

Missha Pure Source Sheet Mask in Honey
This has alcohol denatured which makes me not want to use the mask. I avoid simple alcohol as it is a potential irritant (studies show mixed results) to my dry skin. Many Missha Pure Source masks contain simple alcohol.
Naobay Natural & Organic Oxygenating Cream Moisturizing *Birchbox
I had a visceral reaction to this product. To me, it felt like a soupy mess and I felt gross after applying it. The only other time I've felt this repulsed by a product was when I tried out the Natura-Bisse sunscreen.
Alba Botanica Hawaiian Papaya Enzyme Facial Mask
I bought this before I started getting into Asian skincare. Papaya extract/enzymes may not be good for your skin as it is a potential allergen. Study here. Again just goes to show that natural is not synonymous with good and synthetic is not synonymous with evil.
Chidoriya Rice Bran and Silk Facial Soap
I bought this because I was seduced by the idea of silk on my face! However, the pH of this soap is 9, which can make this product harsh and stripping despite its claims of being a gentle cleansing option. Into the bin with ya.

Burt's Bees Coconut Foot Cream creme pour les pieds a la noix de coco
Love the minty coconut scent, but the cream is extremely sticky.
Jo Malone Nectarine and Honey Body Creme
I bought this with a Nordstrom gift card that I desperately wish I'd saved. If you have the means to buy an $80 body cream and not bat an eyelash, go for it. The texture is nice and luxurious, I don't personally think it is worth the money though. It does nothing other than moisturize a bit and smell nice.

Kiss My Face Eye Repair Creme Reparatrice Contour Des Yeux
This eye cream did not live up to its claims, and did absolutely nothing for my dark circles.
Caudalie Vinoperfect Cell Renewal Night Cream
After the cosmetic chemists turned podcasters at The Beauty Brains enlightened me on papaya enzyme being bad for your face, my mediocre experience with this cream is starting to make more sense. Again, link to study here.
Yes To Blueberries Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 30
This is a gloopy mess that despite its heavy-hitting molecular weight, managed to accomplish nothing asides from clogging my pores. It did nothing to hydrate and smooth my dry, flaky skin.
So that was a look into the disappointing products that made it into my personal collection. I hope this helps some of you. May the odds be ever in your favor as you dodge all the duds out there!
