I'd heard that Etude House did a product that could save mediocre mascaras from the dustbin so I picked it up. It's called the Dr. Mascara Fixer for Perfect Lash and there are two kinds, #01 is the regular clear gel fixer, and #02 which I *think* has fibers in the formula to create longer lashes.

I have a straight lashes that don't hold a curl very easily. Because of this, many mascaras that are great for others don't work for me, like this Clinique Lash Doubling Mascara. After curling my lashes and applying these mascaras, the weight of the mascara ends up weighing my lashes down until they're stick straight again. Enter Etude House.

According to Etude House: "This transparent fixing gel mascara  offers perfect curl / volume / waterproof fix in any environment and climate. Infused with Black Food extracts to condition lashes."

INGREDIENTS ISODODECANE, TRIMETHYLSILOXYSILICATE, VP/EICOSENE COPOLYMER, CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, SILICA, DISTEARDIMONIUM HECTORITE, SYNTHETIC WAX, ETHYLENE/PROPYLENE COPOLYMER, PROPYLENE CARBONATE, WATER, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, GLYCINE SOJA (SOYBEAN) SEED EXTRACT, TRIETHOXYCAPRYLYLSILANE [+/- (MAY CONTAIN) IRON OXIDES (CI 77499, CI 77492, CI 77491), BLACK 2 (CI 77266), MICA] [ANALYSIS]

PACKAGING
The mascara fixer comes in a white plastic tube with a silver twist-off cap. When new, it comes sealed with a sticker. The brush is pretty normal - and actually looks just like the brush of the Clinique mascara in the photo. It's straight and spiraled. I've been finding the brush makes it easy to get a good coating on all of my lashes with the brush in one go.

PRODUCT
This is a clear mascara primer that's slightly viscous and slightly sticky. I use it after curling my lashes and then apply one of my many mediocre mascaras over it. Etude House says it can be used over the top of a mascara to waterproof it as well. It dries quickly, within seconds and my lashes don't feel crisp after it does.

PERFORMANCE
This fixer REALLY holds a curl. It doesn't matter if the mascara has NEVER held a curl before in its life! With the help of the Dr. Mascara Fixer, the lashes stay curled all. day. and. all. night. if you don't remove it. It also helps keep mascara from smudging underneath my eyes.

I've only used this underneath mascara and not over it because it's so hard to remove, even with my most reliable balm cleansers. I couldn't imagine how tough it would be to remove if I applied an additional waterproofing coat. Great for a night out, but a bit annoying for daily use.

PRICE
If you're interested in trying out the fixer for yourself, this product retails for 5100 KRW at Tester Korea$5.90 (6ml) with free shipping at the Jolse Amazon storefront (!), $6.38 at Jolse (!), or $7.80 at Etude House.
