Mamonde Vivid Touch Moisture Lipstick in 08 Orange Flower Review

Monday, May 16, 2016

Warm weather is almost upon us once again and with it the promise of many joyous occasions like weddings, barbecues, picnics and more. Face it, there will be many occasions to wear a bright spring/summery lipstick to brighten your mood and your makeup look. In my last Aritaum haul I picked up a lipstick to help me get into a spring/summery mood and it is this Mamonde Vivid Touch Moisture Lipstick in 08 Orange Flower. I haven't seen much information on these lipsticks online yet so I thought what the hey why not give the internet that rare beast, the k-beauty makeup review.

Mamonde is an Amore Pacific brand and it's available at Aritaum stores in the U.S., Canada, and Korea. Wherever there is an international Aritaum presence. They're also available online, and I'll link those down below for anyone who is interested. The brand's known for their floral theme - so in their skincare, their makeup products there's usually a flower featured in the ingredients list or in the product name.

The Vivid Touch Moisture Lipstick range has 20 colors, and the formula seems to differ quite a bit. When I swatched them in store, the pinkier, purplier colors had some microflecks of glitter and were a satin finish while the nudes, oranges, and corals were moisturizing semi-mattes.

It comes packaged in a gray rubberized plastic tube that clicks shut. The manufacturing date of the lipstick is stamped on the bottom of the packaging. There's no way to see into the lipstick and the label only has the lipstick name printed in Korean, and no color stamp or anything to identify the color on it. The ingredients of the lipstick are listed on the back of the box if you're interested in what's in your lipsticks.

The lipstick formula has safflower and phytosqualane which are both nourishing emollient oils so the lipstick is very moisturizing. It's also fully pigmented from the first swipe. You'll notice that although the color is almost a true orange it has a bit of a peachy tinge to it. It's vibrant and really stands out on the lips. If you have really dry or cracked lips, this lipstick does get into the crevices, however, if you wear it for awhile and reapply on top of it, you'll notice that your lips have gotten softer and the second application won't really get into the cracks as much. This lipstick is comfortable but is not transfer-proof nor is it long-wearing so you'll want to keep it in your purse to touch-up after meals. When the lip color fades, it fades evenly into a nice light peach stain on the lips.

I definitely recommend this lipstick for those of you who enjoy bright, semi-matte lipsticks and are looking for something fun and poppy to wear this spring/summer.

What's your favorite summery lip color?
